#10. Veep
(Season 4)
With creator and showrunner Armando Iannucci stepping down, ‘Veep’ is going to have us all on pins and needles come April, when season five is set to air. With a season like the one we saw this year, the quality of five is irrelevant. If it was not already, Selena Meyer’s first season as POTUS cements her and her companions as one of the best ensembles on television. In true ‘Veep’ fashion, the insults - the best you will find on TV, hands down - flow like wine, the political cynicism aims true, and the satire sings as loud as the Liberty Bell. You would think that the promotion of all promotions would help to straighten the Meyer team out, but they only become more inept. That’s one reason why new addition Tom James, played by an excellent Hugh Laurie, could disrupt the upcoming season in crazy ways. A politician who actually seems to care? Say what?!
